Winteradventure builds

One of my winter project

Everyone has to maintain their bike but how its done is very individual. Some might use the local mechanic and some might do it their self. I have been tumbling with bikes and engines since I was a boy so a do all the maintenance myself and enjoy doing so
The VFR is a nice ride but after riding 6000 km this year and not being totally satisfied with the rider position on the bike I decided to try fitting a normal bar instead of the clipons.
AGimbelbike - Gimbel is a german company specialised in conversions.

The Vfr is a Honda and one of the honda´s where the engineer has had a great influence on the bikes design. Therefore the upper fork crown is covered with a painted cover. By removing this cover and the clipons I was able to test fit a bar that we had lying in our stock. And this is how it ended up with:

I am not totally satisfied with the position in either of the solutions so I am happy that the winter is long. The big question is - Can a better and maybe more practical rider position be justified over the looks of the bike? Any thought?
